Taman Ayun
Temple is a royal temple of former Mengwi Kingdom which is located in Mengwi
village, Tabanan regency. If you go by car, it will take about 18 kilometres
to get there. Roads to get there are always busy and much pollution; however,
once you get to the site you will get mesmerised, first by a building that
looks like floating on the water. Once you cross the bridge and enter the
temple, you will be welcome by a huge beautiful garden in the front
courtyard. Going further inside, visitors will see a beautiful temple complex
which strongly has nuance of Hindus empire. Besides enjoying the temple, visitors
can also capture a nice view of the river. Local people like fishing to this
river and some of them even take a bath at the river.

KUNING

Candi Kuning
is a village located in Baturiti subdistrict, Tabanan regency; about 2 hours
drive from Denpasar. The village become famous because of its traditional
market called Candi Kuning market. It is reachable only a couple of minutes
from botanical garden of Bedugul or even closer from the Lake Beratan. It
sells variety of fruit and vegetables besides the hand-made products are also
available. The fruit and vegetables that people sell here are fresh ones as
it is directly taken from local plantation. Throngs of visitors visit this
place during holiday seasons especially local domestic tourist who are fond
of fresh local product.

LAKE
BERATAN

Another place
of interests in the northern part of Bali is Lake Beratan. Located in the
altitude of 1,200 metres above see level makes this area a little freezing.
To get to this place, it takes only a few minutes from Candi Kuning. Lake
Beratan has an amazing green hill in the background that makes the site more
thrilling. In the middle of the lake, there is a holy temple of which is the
most important temple in the area called Ulun Danu Temple. This is the
veneration of Sang Hyang Dewi Danu (goddess Danu) built by the people who
inhabit around Candi Kuning village for her blessing of fruitfulness. For
visitors, it is allowed to enter the temple (with appropriate dress) and take
some pictures for their memories.

PACUNG

Pacung is a highland site located in
Pacung village, Baturiti subdistrict, Tabanan regency. It takes about 1.5
hours drive from Denpasar city to get to this beautiful site. Pacung is very
famous for its fascinating rice field terrace with tropical plantations in
the surrounding. Looking from the high point around the site, visitors may see
the difference of this rice terrace compared to another rice terrace in Bali.
Pacung is a one-stop tourist attraction in Tabanan regency where visitors can
enjoy lunch at the nearby restaurant while enjoying the view of beautiful
rice terrace. The weather at Putung is cool enough so it gives a real nuance
of the nature in Bali. Come and see the place, and do not forget to get your

ALAS
KEDATON

One of most prestigious conservations
of animals and nature in western part of Bali is Alas Kedaton. It is a holy
forest of 12 ha of all area including the temple and the supporting
facilities. Alas Kedaton (Kedaton Forest) is situated in Kukuh village, Marga
subdistrict, Tabanan regency. Describing from its name ‘Alas’ which means
forest, we will think that lots of wild animals are there. However, it is not
100% so as there are monkeys and bats living in the forest. The monkeys there
are quite friendly and wandering all around the area. They live contiguously
with another mammal, bats, and have mutual file between them. The bats living
in Kedaton forest are giant bats; they are very big in size and hanging on
the top branches of the trees. Besides the forest, the temple in Alas Kedaton
plays a significant role in protecting the animals in the forest so that they
comfortably live together.

TANAH
LOT

Nestled in the middle of the sea on
top of giant sea rock, Tanah Lot Temple stands grandiosely teasing local and
foreign visitors to come and see its greatness. This beautiful rocky temple
is located in Tabanan regency, about 20 kilometres from Denpasar. The temple
was founded by Dang Hyang Nirartha around 15th century and has
become one of most important temples in Bali. Lots of visitors visit this
place every day and they prefer to arrive there around 5 pm to be able to
enjoy the sunset in the same time. Frankly speaking, it is a really nice
place to enjoy the sun set while visiting the temple. Besides the temple,
there is another enchanting view of this site is a peculiar poisonous snake
living under the temple, around the rock. It is believed that the snake is
protecting the temple from evil spirit and intruders. A visit to this
particular site is a must when you are in Bali.
